The First Academy Eagles will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Real Life Christian Academy Raptors at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Two weeks ago, First Academy needed a bit of extra time to put away Legacy Charter. They were the clear victor by a 19-10 margin over Legacy Charter. First Academy's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Rebecca Barnett made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 17 batters over nine innings while giving up ten earned runs off ten hits. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 6.8 strikeouts per game. She was even better at the plate, firing off three home runs, five runs, and seven RBI while going 4-for-5. Those five runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madi Myers, who scored five runs while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Skylar Gay, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-6.
First Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .489. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Legacy Charter only posted a batting average of .182.
Meanwhile, Real Life Christian Academy waltzed into their match on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Wildcats as they made off with a 17-6 win. The Raptors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by 11 runs or more this season.
Daniella Delgadillo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring five runs and stealing Four bases. while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Shawn Ramsey was a standout: she scored a run and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Evelyn Anderson was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Real Life Christian Academy pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 23.0 runs over those games. As for First Academy, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. First Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Real Life Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 14.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
