Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mogollon). They were the clear victors by a 22-10 margin over the San Manuel Miners on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Mustangs considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Ava Plantholt was a standout: she fired off four stolen bases, six runs, and three doubles while going 6-for-6. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kindsey Porter, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mogollon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 3.8 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 9.4.

Mogollon's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-9. As for San Manuel, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Mogollon beat San Manuel by a score of 12-8 later that day.
