Baseball Recap: Central Catholic Triumphs

Central Catholic won the last time they faced Montour and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Vikings walked away with a 6-2 win over the Spartans.

Ryan Tatar looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, CJ Proch and Yaniel Heredia did most of the damage at the plate: Proch went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Heredia went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave Heredia a new career-high. Chase Gelpi also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Central Catholic's record is now 6-12. As for Montour, their record now sits at 11-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Catholic will venture away from home to take on Penn-Trafford at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight. As for Montour, they will head out on the road to challenge Blackhawk at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
