Baseball Recap: Gig Harbor Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Gig Harbor fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Kennewick on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They came up short against the Lions, falling 12-5. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Tides, who until this game were averaging 1.6 runs allowed.

Jake Cuda was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April.

On the hitting side, Ethan Mar made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Daniel Porras was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Gig Harbor's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 27-3. As for Kennewick, the win was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-4.

As of now, neither Gig Harbor nor the Lions have any future games scheduled.
