Volleyball Recap: Gulf Buccaneers vs. Pasco Pirates
Gulf lost against Pasco back in August and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Buccaneers came up short against the Pirates, falling 3-0. The Buccaneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
While Gulf ultimately came up short, they really made Pasco work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-23, 25-17.
Pasco was led to victory by Quincy Newlon and Madeline Simpson. Newlon had 17 digs and one assist, while Simpson had nine assists and four digs. That's the most assists Simpson has posted since back in September. Aurora Garcia also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.
Gulf's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Pasco, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-14.
Gulf has already played their next matchup (against Anclote), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Pasco, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Zephyrhills at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
