Football Recap: Triad Cardinals vs. West Jefferson Roughriders
Triad had lost eight straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-7 to make it nine. They were dealt a 55-7 defeat at the hands of the West Jefferson Roughriders. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 672nd, while the Roughriders are ranked 151st).
As for West Jefferson, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. Considering they have won four games by more than 33 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Austin Buescher had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 413 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 95.5% of his passes, and also punching in two touchdowns on the ground. Another player making a difference was Jackson Beatty, who picked up 246 receiving yards.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Triad is set to take on their familiar foe West Liberty-Salem at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, West Jefferson will square off against rival Mechanicsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
