Baseball Recap: Desert Ridge's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Desert Ridge lost to Highland back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Jaguars walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Hawks.

Dylan Taylor spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kelton Floan, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Gamboa, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Desert Ridge's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-14. As for Highland, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-10.

Looking ahead, Desert Ridge will take on Sunrise Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Highland will be paying especially close attention to the Jaguars' matchup: after the Jaguars faces off against the Mustangs, they'll take on Highland again at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
