Preview: Palmer Tigers vs. Riverside Chargers
Palmer is 0-10 against Riverside since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Palmer Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Riverside Chargers at 7:30 p.m.
Palmer suffered their biggest defeat since December 1, 2023 last Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Burwell, falling 61-20. Palmer has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Riverside beat Arcadia/Loup City 48-39 on Thursday.
Riverside's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Larry Diessner, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dane Schalk, who scored ten points.
Palmer's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Riverside, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Palmer was taken down by Riverside 77-7 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Palmer was down 41-2.
