Softball Recap: Burbank Comes Up Short

Burbank had lost ten straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 1-11 to make it 11. They came up short against the Foothill Mustangs, falling 21-5. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Titans of the 17-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

As for Foothill, their record is now 9-5. Considering they have won eight games by more than ten runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Foothill's part, Mercede Averett was excellent, firing off three stolen bases, four runs, and three doubles while going 5-for-5. Those three doubles gave Averett a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Vaca, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Foothill beat Burbank by a score of 21-2 later that day.
