Montpelier has gone 7-1 against North Country Union recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Montpelier Solons are taking a road trip to take on the North Country Union Falcons at 6:30 p.m. Montpelier knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 19 games -- so hopefully North Country Union likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Montpelier didn't have too much trouble with Randolph as they won 87-70. Given the Solons' advantage in MaxPreps' Vermont basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while the Ghosts are ranked 26th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, North Country Union was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 67-63 to Harwood. The Falcons have struggled against the Highlanders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Montpelier pushed their record up to 18-1 with the win, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27.6 points. As for North Country Union, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Everything came up roses for Montpelier against North Country Union in their previous matchup back in January, as the squad secured a 93-53 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Montpelier since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
