Softball Recap: Homestead Has No Trouble Against Varela

Homestead's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the Varela Vipers 24-9. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 29-7 back in March.

Homestead got a massive performance out of Carla Romero, who scored four runs and stole five bases while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Beyonce Almaguer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.

Homestead always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .857. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Homestead's record is now 4-2. As for Varela, their record now sits at 3-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Homestead will welcome Miami at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Varela, they will host South Dade at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vipers will need to watch out since the Buccaneers have now posted at least ten runs in their last five matchups.
