Basketball Recap: Como-Pickton Eagles vs. Cumby Trojans
Como-Pickton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by the Cumby Trojans and fell 68-27. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 68-49 on January 3rd.
It was another big night for Chett Vaughan, who went 11 for 21 en route to 31 points along with seven steals and six boards for Cumby. The game was Vaughan's 30th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Chayton Vaughan, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 14 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals.
Como-Pickton's defeat dropped their record down to 7-23. As for Cumby, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-13.
Como-Pickton has already played their next match (against Pioneer Tech & Arts Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Cumby will square off against Boles at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Boles has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
