Baseball Game Preview: Bartram Trail Bears vs. Bolles Bulldogs

The Bartram Trail Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Bolles Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Bartram Trail is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Clay on Thursday. They lost 9-2 to the Blue Devils.

Bartram Trail saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jonathan Bay, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Bolles gave up the first runs last Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Middleburg by a score of 9-4.

Zeke Ansley tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jackson Geist was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Gray McCarthy, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Bolles' record is now 13-6. As for Bartram Trail, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.

Bartram Trail couldn't quite get it done against Bolles when the teams last played back in March of 2024 as they fell 5-2. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
