Basketball Recap: Amare Robinson Key Part of a Team Effort in Gladiators Win

Goodwin Tech won the last time they faced Prince RVT and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Goodwin Tech Gladiators snuck past the Prince RVT Falcons with an 80-75 win.

Goodwin Tech's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amare Robinson, who went 8 of 12 en route to 25 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Robinson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Nazir Russell, who went 8 for 16 on his way to 21 points in addition to seven assists and five boards.

Goodwin Tech smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Goodwin Tech is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.8 points per game. As for Prince RVT, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-12.

Goodwin Tech will challenge Vinal RVT at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Prince RVT has already played their next game, an 80-75 defeat against Goodwin RVT on the 28th.
