Volleyball Recap: Brazoswood Takes a Loss

Brazoswood extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 8-18. They lost 3-0 to the Clear Falls Knights. If the Buccaneers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Knights when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lyla Krikley paced Brazoswood's offense, picking up nine kills. Krikley got some help from Audrey Mulholland and her 14 assists. Grace Atkins controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

As for Clear Falls, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 15-15. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 2nd (when they won 3-0).

Sophia Green was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 15 digs and three assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 13 games she's played.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brazoswood will host Clear Springs at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Buccaneers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Clear Falls, they will square off against Clear Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
