Recap: Keystone Panthers vs. Curwensville Golden Tide
The Keystone Panthers came into Monday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Curwensville on Monday and snuck past 54-51. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Keystone also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2021.
Curwensville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Davis Fleming, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 45.1% of Curwensville's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Parker Wood was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Keystone's victory bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Curwensville, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Keystone will take on Allegheny-Clarion Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Curwensville, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Moshannon Valley at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Curwensville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
