Baseball Recap: Everglades City Comes Up Short

Everglades City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 22-4 to the Donahue Catholic Shamrocks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Shamrocks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 26-3 back in March.

Everglades City saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaxsen Smolinsky, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. That hit was Smolinsky's first of the season.

Everglades City's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Donahue Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-5.

Everglades City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Donahue Catholic, they will square off against Mason Classical Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
