Liberty won the last time they faced Pittsburg and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Lions were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Pirates. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Liberty not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Pittsburg between 15 and 17 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-15, 25-17.

Liberty was led to victory by Samantha Salvatierra and Emery Gunderson. Salvatierra had four digs and four aces, while Gunderson had four digs and two aces. That's the most aces Gunderson has posted over her last six contests.

They weren't the only good servers: Liberty was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pittsburg only served five.

Pittsburg's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Leilani Flood, who had seven digs and two aces, and Kryztigale Guartero, who had 13 digs. Imani Cabezud-Thompson also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Liberty's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Pittsburg, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 14 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season.

Liberty wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Antioch on the 23rd. As for Pittsburg, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Heritage on the 23rd.
