Basketball Recap: Monday's Win Is Leonardtown's Eighth in Last Ten Outings

Leonardtown extended their home winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Landon Windell. The Leonardtown Raiders came out on top against the Huntingtown Hurricanes by a score of 71-60 on Monday thanks in part to Windell, who went 9 for 15 en route to 30 points and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last five games he's played.

Another player making a difference was Darius Searles, who posted 14 points in addition to five boards and five steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals.

When it comes to explaining why Huntingtown lost, don't look at Eli Washington. Despite the final result, he went 9 of 15 on his way to 21 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Harris, who earned 16 points along with six boards and five assists.

Leonardtown has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Huntingtown, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.
