Mohave is 1-9 against Prescott since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Thunderbirds will take on the Badgers at 5:00 p.m. Mohave is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Mohave made easy work of Glendale and carried off a 13-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Thunderbirds, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.
Rilynn Bragg made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, Gabby Fernandez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jahnezz Jones, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double.
Mohave was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in five consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Prescott was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 10-0 to Bradshaw Mountain.
Prescott saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Belle Mazon, who went 2-for-3 with one double. Mariah Smolnikar was another, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases.
Prescott's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Mohave, their record is now 12-10.
Prescott's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mohave has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Prescott, though, as they've been averaging 9.6 hits. Given Mohave's sizable advantage in that area, the Badgers will need to find a way to close that gap.
Mohave took their victory against Prescott in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunderbirds since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
