Baseball Recap: Mira Monte Comes Up Short

Mira Monte lost against Arvin on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Lions fell 6-3 to the Bears. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Emmanuel Gonzalez was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Gonzalez wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Sanabia-Galvan, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double. Sanabia-Galvan has become a key player for Mira Monte: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-15 otherwise.

Mira Monte's loss dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Arvin, their win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-8-1.

As of now, neither Mira Monte nor the Bears have any future games scheduled.
