Softball Recap: Flint Hill Has No Trouble Against St. Andrew's Episcopal

While Flint Hill put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for St. Andrew's Episcopal. The Huskies were the clear victors by a 23-0 margin over the Lions. That 23 run margin sets a new team best for the Huskies this season.

Cate Stanley made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over 4.2 innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Jane Stanley was a standout: she got on base in five of her six plate appearances with four runs, five RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zaina Gilbert, who scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances.

Flint Hill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .694. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Flint Hill's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for St. Andrew's Episcopal, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Flint Hill will head out to take on Trinity Episcopal at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Huskies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Titans have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for St. Andrew's Episcopal, they are taking a road trip to square off against National Cathedral at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
