Basketball Recap: Mercy Snags 14th Win in Last 15 Games

Mercy won the last time they faced Stevenson and things went their way on Friday too. The Mercy Marlins enjoyed a cozy 60-45 win over the Stevenson Spartans. Given the Marlins' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Spartans are ranked 113th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mercy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.9 points over those games. Stevenson has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-8 record this season.

Mercy will take on Wayne Memorial in a tournament on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Wayne Memorial comes in on four and Mercy on seven. Stevenson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
