Soccer Recap: Meridian/Sangamon Valley/Central A&M Comes Up Short

After flying high against Tolono Unity last Thursday, Meridian/Sangamon Valley/Central A&M came back down to earth. The Hawks came up short against the Lincoln Railsplitters on Tuesday, falling 6-2. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Meridian/Sangamon Valley/Central A&M were already down 4-0.

Dawson Templeton wasn't going to let Lincoln walk away unscathed as he scored both of Meridian/Sangamon Valley/Central A&M's goals, bringing his season total up to 12 goals.

The loss snapped Meridian/Sangamon Valley/Central A&M's winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 15-6-2 record. As for Lincoln, with the win, they broke their four-match losing streak and moved their record to 6-18-1.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Meridian/Sangamon Valley/Central A&M will face off against Riverton/Tri-City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lincoln, they will challenge Normal West at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
