Recap: Lake Mary Prep Griffins vs. Foundation Academy Lions
After flying high against the Orlando Science Orcas two weeks ago, the Lake Mary Prep Griffins came back down to earth. Lake Mary Prep took a serious blow against Foundation Academy on Thursday, falling 86-43. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lake Mary Prep in their matchups with Foundation Academy: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Lake Mary Prep had strong showings from Jake Caporaso, who scored 11 points, and Wade Brashears, who scored 14 points. The matchup was Brashears' tenth in a row with at least ten points.
Lake Mary Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Foundation Academy, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5.
Lake Mary Prep will head out on the road to face off against Father Lopez at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Father Lopez presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lake Mary Prep in Florida (Father Lopez is ranked 148th, while Lake Mary Prep is ranked 451st). As for Foundation Academy, they will stay at home for another game and welcome South Lake at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th. South Lake will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
