Recap: Chittenango Bears vs. Westhill Warriors
The Chittenango Bears pushed their score all the way to 58 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Westhill. While losing is never fun, Chittenango can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Westhill is ranked 31st).
Despite the loss, Chittenango still got an impressive performance from Ryan Moesch, who scored 25 points along with six assists. Moesch is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 21 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Bernardo Bortovski, who scored six points along with 19 rebounds and two steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Chittenango and nudges their season record down to 12-7. As for Westhill, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-2.
Chittenango will stay at home for another game and welcome East Syracuse-Minoa at 7:15 p.m. on February 15th. As for Westhill, they will head out on the road to take on Christian Brothers Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westhill is coming into the matchup with four straight wins on the road, meaning Christian Brothers Academy will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory.
