Baseball Recap: Rossford Gets the Win

Rossford won the last time they faced Fostoria and things went their way on Monday too. The Bulldogs walked away with a 4-1 win over the Redmen.

Jackson Yerkes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up 15 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Rossford's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Campbell, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Landen Scherer also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Rossford's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-9. As for Fostoria, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.

As for Fostoria, they will be playing at home against Maumee at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Redmen's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
