Softball Game Preview: Slocum Mustangs vs. Normangee Panthers

Slocum hasn't had much luck against Normangee recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Slocum Mustangs are taking a road trip to square off against the Normangee Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Normangee took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Slocum, who comes in off a win.

Slocum will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Grace Community, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. Slocum walked away with an 8-4 victory over Grace Community on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Meanwhile, Normangee came up short against Grapeland on Monday and fell 6-2. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kynleigh Long was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season.

Normangee now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Slocum, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Slocum might still be hurting after the 7-0 defeat they got from Normangee in their previous meeting back in May of 2022. Can Slocum avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
