Softball Recap: Woodland Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Woodland dropped their record down to 10-6 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Columbia River Rapids by a score of 6-5. The Beavers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rapids earlier this season, when they won 13-5.

Madison Walker was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Ainsleigh Utter, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

As for Columbia River, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games.

On Columbia River's side, Haylee Delano spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Haley Corona, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Ava Pratoussy, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
