Baseball Recap: Sand Creek Comes Up Short

Sand Creek was the 6-1 winner over Hanover-Horton when they last played one another back in April of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Aggies came up short against the Comets on Thursday, falling 15-2. The Aggies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ivan Wilkinson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Dane Morrin was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Sand Creek's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Hanover-Horton, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6.

When Sand Creek and Hanover-Horton next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Aggies will try to stop Madison's six-game winning streak when they meet at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Hanover-Horton will face off against Lumen Christi Catholic and their seven-game winning streak at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Comets 4.1, the Titans 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
