Soccer Recap: Cigarroa Comes Up Short

Cigarroa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Mission Veterans Memorial Patriots. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Toros of the 1-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Cigarroa's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Mission Veterans Memorial, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-7-1.

Cigarroa and Mission Veterans Memorial could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Cigarroa will take on Nixon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday down 650 places (760 vs. 110). Similarly, Mission Veterans Memorial (ranked 677th) will meet Juarez-Lincoln (ranked 329th) at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
