Basketball Recap: Agua Dulce Skates Past Premont with Ease

Agua Dulce won against Kaufer last Friday with 54 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The Agua Dulce Longhorns breezed by the Premont Cowboys to the tune of 54-13. The Longhorns have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 20 points or more this season.

Agua Dulce got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alyssa Vinton out in front who went 7 for 13 on her way to 14 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Vinton is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Avery Calvez, who posted six points in addition to six steals and five boards.

Agua Dulce smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 12 consecutive contests.

Agua Dulce's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Premont, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-13.

Coincidentally, Agua Dulce and Premont will both be playing La Villa the next time they take the court. Agua Dulce will host La Villa at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Premont will head out to face them at 8:00 p.m. on January 31st.
