Softball Recap: Hillcrest Takes a Loss

JW North hit Hillcrest with a five-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Trojans fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 11-10. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 back in April.

Melody Acevedo was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one double. Sarah Mcdowell was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Hillcrest's defeat dropped their record down to 15-12. As for JW North, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-10 record this season.
