Football Recap: Alpine Comes Up Short

Alpine lost against Compass Academy back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bucks took a blow against the Cougars, falling 52-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Compass Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Valois Terecero, who rushed for 129 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Kasen Smart, who rushed for 63 yards and two scores on only eight carries.

Alpine's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Compass Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Alpine and Compass Academy will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Bucks see the field they'll take on Anthony at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. As for Compass Academy, their break will end when they face Crane at 7:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
