Baseball Recap: Amherst Comes Up Short

Amherst came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 11-5 to the Pacelli Cardinals. The Falcons have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Amherst saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Hintz, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Hintz is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Amherst's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Pacelli, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-5.

Looking ahead, Amherst will face off against Menominee Nation at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pacelli, they will square off against Bonduel at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
