Recap: De Soto Pirates vs. Ithaca Bulldogs
The De Soto Pirates lost to the Ithaca Bulldogs back in February of 2023, but the De Soto Pirates didn't allow the Ithaca Bulldogs the same satisfaction on Tuesday. De Soto snuck past Ithaca with a 52-47 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for De Soto.
De Soto found their leader in underclassman Kylee Venner, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Venner has scored at least a third of De Soto's points. Another player making a difference was Makenna Gilman, who scored nine points along with two steals.
De Soto has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Ithaca, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.
De Soto will play host again and welcome Kickapoo, where tip off is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Ithaca, they will head out on the road to challenge La Farge/Youth Initiative at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
