Softball Recap: Wilton's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Wilton had lost six games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 7-10 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They walked away with a 10-6 victory over the Ludlowe Falcons. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 16-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

Katie McKay and Emma Van Heyst did most of the damage at the plate: McKay went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Van Heyst went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs McKay has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Katerina Cross, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Wilton lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

As for Ludlowe, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for they, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-11.

On Ludlowe's side, Alexa Mills made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run.
