Basketball Game Preview: Charleston Math & Science Riptide vs. Bethune-Bowman Mohawks

The Charleston Math & Science Riptide will venture away from home to face off against the Bethune-Bowman Mohawks at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Charleston Math & Science will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Charleston Math & Science is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since November 21, 2025 on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Branchville, sneaking past 51-48.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Bethune-Bowman against St. John's on Tuesday as the squad secured a 63-11 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Mohawks' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 55th, while the Islanders are ranked 284th).

Charleston Math & Science's record now sits at 10-5. As for Bethune-Bowman, their record is now 12-3.

Charleston Math & Science strolled past Bethune-Bowman in their previous meeting back in February of 2025 by a score of 51-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Riptide since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
