Softball Recap: Wednesday's Defeat Ends Northridge Academy's Winning Streak

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Northridge Academy can now relate to. They fell just short of the Marquez Gladiators by a score of 6-4 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Pumas have suffered since March 24th.

Guadalupe Ortiz was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

With the loss, Northridge Academy broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-5. As for Marquez, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-2 record this season.

Northridge Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marquez, they will square off against Taft at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Toreadors will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Gladiators surely won't give up without a fight.
