            Baseball Recap: Irvington Bulldogs vs. Albertus Magnus Falcons        
        
		
        
        
            Irvington extended their losing streak  to three  on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 2-6 in the process. They lost  11-4 to the Albertus Magnus Falcons. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing  18-2 to the Falcons when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
As for Albertus Magnus,  the  win made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 9-7. Considering they have won six games by more than six  runs this season, Saturday's  blowout was nothing new.
For Albertus Magnus' part,  Matthew Nevin made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing six innings while giving up  three earned runs off   four  hits. What's more,  Nevin posted five  strikeouts, the most he's  had since back in April. He was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with two  runs and two  RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Albertus Magnus' success: when he posts  at  least two  runs the team is undefeated (and 5-7 when he doesn't).
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Tyler Wein, who  went 2-for-3 with one  home run, three  runs,  and four  RBI. He has become a key player for Albertus Magnus: the team is undefeated when he posts  at  least  two  runs, but 5-7 otherwise.
 Coming up, Albertus Magnus will challenge Pearl River at 10:00  a.m.  on Sunday. Irvington will be paying especially close attention to the Falcons'  match: after the Falcons face off against the Pirates, they'll take on Irvington again  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.
