Basketball Recap: Starmount's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Starmount had to endure a 12-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 62-56 victory over the Forbush Falcons on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 49-45 back in December of 2024.

Starmount's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Corey Armstrong, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 24 rebounds. Armstrong is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last four games he's played. Sean Gregory was another key player, going 7 for 12 en route to 18 points and seven rebounds.

Starmount smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Starmount's win ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-16. As for Forbush, they dropped their record down to 0-17 with the defeat, which was their 21st straight on the road dating back to last season.

Starmount didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-50 loss against North Stokes on the 28th. Forbush has also already played their next match, a 71-46 defeat against West Wilkes on the 28th.
