Basketball Recap: Las Vegas Comes Up Short

After flying high against Chaparral last Saturday, Las Vegas came back down to earth. The Las Vegas Wildcats lost 82-61 to the Centennial Bulldogs on Monday. The Wildcats' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Las Vegas lost, don't look at Tayshaun Jackson. Despite the final result, he posted 13 points and five assists. That's the most assists Jackson has posted since back in February of 2024. Jacory Boyce was another key player, putting up eight points.

Las Vegas' loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Centennial, their victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Las Vegas will welcome Sports Leadership & Management at 6:30 p.m. on January 6th. Las Vegas knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Sports Leadership & Management likes a good challenge. As for Centennial, they will be playing at home against Shadow Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on January 7th.
