Basketball Preview: Frederica Academy vs. Faith Baptist Christian Academy Crusaders
Frederica Academy is 6-0 against the Crusaders since December of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Frederica Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against the Faith Baptist Christian Academy Crusaders at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Frederica Academy is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Crusaders in Georgia (the are ranked 158th, while the Crusaders are ranked 527th).
After a string of three wins, Frederica Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were the victim of a tough 59-38 defeat at the hands of St. Andrew's.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Faith Baptist Christian Academy at home against the Soldiers on Monday as the team secured a 80-45 win. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Faith Baptist Christian Academy had established a 31 point advantage.
Faith Baptist Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from John Robinson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten steals. Robinson hasn't dropped below two blocks for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of RJ Legette, who scored 17 points along with eight steals and seven assists.
Frederica Academy's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-4. As for Faith Baptist Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 16-11.
Frederica Academy strolled past the Crusaders when the teams last played back in January by a score of 62-48. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Robinson, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds.
