            Volleyball Recap: Columbia Raiders vs. Black River Pirates        
        
		
        
        
            Columbia proved they can win big  on Tuesday (they won by three) and  on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a  set and slipped past the Black River Pirates  3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Raiders have posted  against the Pirates since September 28, 2021.
 Columbia took Black River into a fifth set  where they got it done with a four-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 26-24, 25-18, 23-25,  15-11.
Columbia's offense was headlined by  Naziya Reid and  Lexi Miller, who picked up 16 kills apiece. They got some help from  Mariah Gonzalez and her 39 assists. Finally,  Karlie Arcuri kept Columbia's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.
 When it comes to explaining why Black River lost, don't look at  Kate Dieter. Despite the final result, she  had ten  digs and three  aces. Dieter is  on a roll when it comes to  aces, as she's  now  served two or more in each of the last five games she's  played.

Columbia pushed their record up to 7-7 with the  victory, which was their fourth straight  at home. As for Black River, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-4.
