Softball Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Lytle's Winning Streak

If Lytle was riding high fresh off their 10-2 takedown of Crystal City last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pirates took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Natalia Mustangs on Friday. The Pirates' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Kaycee Galindo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and eight unearned) runs on 14 hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Anissa Perez was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of ADDISON CRIADO, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Lytle's loss dropped their record down to 10-9-1. As for Natalia, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lytle will take on Cotulla at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cowboys will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Natalia, they will square off against Crystal City at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
