Softball Recap: Foothill Knights vs. Brea Olinda Wildcats
Foothill proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 13) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Brea Olinda Wildcats. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against the Wildcats back in April, they had to take a 10-9 loss.
Capri Gallego spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Zamarippa Belle was excellent, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played.
Foothill's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-13. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch. As for Brea Olinda, the defeat snapped their winning streak at 11 games and leaves them with a 17-5 record.
Coincidentally, Foothill and Brea Olinda will both be playing Troy the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will host the Warriors at 3:15 p.m. on Monday, while the Knights will head out to face them at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
