Softball Recap: Pikeview Extends Winning Streak to Three

PikeView entered their tilt with Montcalm on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Generals with a sharp 12-2 win. The Panthers not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 1st (when they won 19-0).

Emma Compton was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Abby Hedrick was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Kaylie Honaker was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

PikeView now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Montcalm, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. PikeView will take on Nicholas County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Montcalm, they will challenge Princeton at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
