The Monticello Billies will challenge the Crossett Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Monticello will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Monticello had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Warren on Thursday. The Billies blew past the Lumberjacks 15-5. The result was nothing new for the Billies, who have now won nine games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Addi Frazer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Frazer was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Monticello let Libby Kingston and Bliss Becker run wild. Kingston went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs, while Becker went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one RBI. Those three runs gave Becker a new career-high. Ashley Hales was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one double.
Monticello always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Warren only posted an OBP of .348.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Monday Crossett sidestepped Magnolia for a 6-4 win.
The team relied heavily on Gracie Kilcrease, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Beckham Hartley, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Monticello pushed their record up to 14-7 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Crossett, their victory bumped their record up to 18-5.
Monticello took their win against Crossett in their previous meeting on April 10th by a conclusive 11-0 score. Do the Billies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
