Softball Recap: Alonso Gets the Win

While Alonso's victory against Chamberlain wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Ravens had just enough and edged out the Storm 3-1. The win continues a trend for the Ravens in their matchups with the Storm: they've now won six in a row.

Karina Lozada spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up 12 Ks.

At the plate, Kristina Vega was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Belle Ellerbee also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

The victory got Alonso back to even at 8-8. As for Chamberlain, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-5.

Coming up, Alonso will host Durant at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Chamberlain, they are taking a road trip to take on Strawberry Crest at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Storm's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chargers have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season.
