Baseball Recap: Port St. Joe Victorious

With a playoff win on the line, Port St. Joe rose to the challenge on Monday. They walked away with a 13-8 victory over the Franklin County Seahawks. The Tiger Sharks haven't had any issues with the Seahawks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Cole Williams was incredible, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Godwin, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Port St. Joe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Port St. Joe's victory bumped their record up to 16-10. As for Franklin County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-9.

Port St. Joe will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Seahawks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
